Jessica Redekop is a 25-year-old concept artist, specializing in character and costume designs. She was born and raised in the prairie wastelands of Winnipeg, Canada. Alongside drawing, she enjoys such creative pursuits as role-playing games, pensive daydreaming, reading and writing, in addition to nurturing a healthy interest in math, physics, astronomy, and Johannes Kepler. She would like to be an astronaut.
Jessica prefers to work with traditional mediums over digital, particularly pencil, copic markers and watercolours. When working digitally, her first choice is Adobe Flash, but she can also find her way around Photoshop. She uses a Wacom Intuos 3 drawing tablet when creating digital pieces. These days, much of Jessica's drawing time is dedicated to "Squiggly People," a whimsical hybrid of the stick person and the anime chibi. Squiggly People have their own website, http://squigglypeople.com, which Jessica maintains. They are starting to make appearances at Winnipeg anime and comic book conventions, and Jessica hopes to spread her wings and travel to conventions across the country in years to come. |
